A discussion on conservation of traditional water sources was organized by UEMS in presence of newly elected Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Mr. Chiri Babu Maharjan, and Deputy Mayor Ms. Geeta Satyal. The discussion forum was participated by newly elected Ward Chairpersons along with representatives of Lalitpur Metropolitan CIty. Representatives of Kathmandu Valley Water Supply Management Board (KVWSMB), Department of Water Supply and Sewerage (DWSS), District Public Health Office (DPHO), and District Coordination Committee (DCC). A need of Rain Water Harvesting, Ground Water Recharge, conservation of traditional ponds, stone spouts, wells and utilization of traditional sources for Safe Water in Lalitpur Metropolitan City were main areas of discussion.
