The inauguration of the newly constructed building of Shree Rudrayanee Secondary School and handover program was successfully conducted today 14th March, 2017 by the chief guest Rt. Hon. Speaker of Legislature Parliament Onsari Gharti, in the presence of M. Julien Lauprete, the Founder and President of SPF ( Secours populaire francais.
Shree Rudrayanee Secondary School located in Khokane, Karyabinayak Municipality(one of the oldest schools of Nepal, established in 1901 was destroyed by the mega earthquake of April 2015 effecting the education of 207 students. Urban Environment Management Society (UEMS), with support of Secours populaire francais (SPF) initiated "We Rise Again: Shree Rudrayanee Madhyamik Bidyalaya Building Construction Project" to ensure safe learning environment, to minimize disruption in their education and to reduce the dropout rate due to earthquake.
The construction of the school building are earthquake resilient and child friendly. The project undertook the construction of 2 storey 6 classrooms earthquake resistant building as per national building code, provision of safe drinking water and sanitation facilities, as well as school furniture and landscape improvement for safe learning environment.
